The Learning Teaching Training (LTT) activity, hosted by the Department of Physics and Chemistry "Emilio Segré" and the Department of Engineering at the University of Palermo, Italy. It was a collaborative effort between Palermo University, Karabuk University, and Yildiz Technical University, with the latter being the project owner that brought the teams together. The event took place from 6th to 10th March 2023.

DAY 1

Day 1 started with the opening session, including welcome speeches by Prof. Massimo Palma and Prof. Salvatore Gaglio, introducing the participants to the event. The day began with a presentation of the RECOM project and a focus on Output 3, which was about Learning Management Systems. Later, participants engaged in an ice-breaking event, getting to know each other in multicultural teams while exploring the beautiful surroundings of the Palermo Botanical Garden.

DAY 2

Day 2 featured lectures and workshops on various topics related to computer programming. Participants received training materials and worked in teams on video tutorials, games, e-quizzes, and case studies. The day ended with presentations and evaluations of the learning activities.

DAY 3

Day 3 continued with lectures, workshops, and evaluations, focusing on topics like arrays, pointers, and strings. Participants actively engaged in learning and collaborated on their projects.

DAY 4

Day 4 featured additional lectures and workshops, with a focus on practical skills. Teams worked on video tutorials, games, and case studies, each evaluating their outcomes through Excel Sheets.

DAY 5

On Day 5, the final lectures and workshops covered the last topics, and participants evaluated their experiences using Google Forms. The event concluded with participants receiving certificates and providing final feedback.

Throughout the five days, the LTT activity aimed to redesign introductory computer programming using innovative online modules, fostering a student-centred and engaging approach to education. Participants from different partner institutions collaborated, shared experiences, and learned from each other, contributing to the success and impact of the activity. The event provided valuable insights, practical skills, and a supportive learning environment for students in the field of computer programming, aligning with the goals and objectives of the RECOM project.
